Faculty Position in the National Graduate College for Engineers

The National Graduate College for Engineers in Southern University of Science and Technology was officially established in2023. In accordance with the national requirements, the college identifies four research areas or directions on semiconductortechnology:

• Semiconductor physics and chemistry
• Semiconducting materials and materials for semiconductorprocessing
• Processing and equipment
• Devices and integration

The college aims to establish aninternational competitive innovation team, actively promote college-industry cooperation, and cultivate outstanding engineeringtalents in semiconductors.

Research directions include but not limited to:

• Semiconductor physics andchemistry: semiconductor physics; semiconductor materials and devices; chemical engineering for the semiconductor industry; fundamentalphysical and chemical mechanisms in semiconductor devices and processes; cutting-edge analysis testing and measurement techniques; andmore.
• Semiconducting materials and materials for semiconductor processing: materials for the manufacturing of silicon-based CMOSintegrated circuits; defect analysis of semiconductor materials; semiconducting thin film growth; heterogeneous integrating of semiconductormaterials; and more.
• Processes and equipment: next-generation lithography techniques and equipment; ordered nanomanufacturing; nextgeneration integrated circuit manufacturing process and equipment development; equipment development for etching, thin-film deposition,thermal processing, implantation, metrology, polishing; and more.
• Devices and integration: more-than Moore CMOS devices; emerging(disruptive) devices; design and technology co-optimization; 3D integrated circuits; advanced packaging technology; and more.

Salary and benefits:

• Appointed as a professor of the following tracks: tenured ortenure-track (independent PI), research track, or professor of practice track at Southern University of Science and Technology. • Qualified as asupervisor for Ph.D. or Master students, with preferential support for recruiting Ph.D. and Master students in the first two years.

Job qualifications:

• A PhD degree in a relevant field or discipline(Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Precision Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering,Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, and others) from aglobally recognized university. Priority will be given to those with outstanding industry contributions or practical engineeringexperiences. For applicants from industry, the educational background and academic records can be flexible upon demonstration of majorindustrial expertise and contributions.
• Demonstrated R&D capability in one of the four focus areas of the college.
• Capable of independently supervising graduate students.
• Proven ability to undertake tasks in research, teaching and industrycollaboration.
