Teaching Faculty Positions in Chemistry

Westlake University is currently accepting multiple applications fromhigh-level talent for teaching faculty positions to expand the university's professional teaching force further, establish a high-levelteaching system aligned with the university's mission and goals, and provide students with firm learning guidance and support. The specificjob responsibilities and application requirements are as follows:

Open Rank, Non-tenure Track Full-Time Teaching FacultyPositions in Chemistry

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and teach introductory chemistry lectures andlab courses for undergraduate students (in English).

2. Contribute to the holistic designing of the University’s undergraduatechemistry laboratories and the planning of equipment purchases.

3. Enhance students’ motivation and interest in chemistry.

4. Support students’ learning and provide individualized assistance; ensure sufficient office hours to assist students in regularconsultation; provide training and guidance to teaching assistants.

5. Organize and participate in other chemistry teachingactivities on campus.

Requirements:

1. Strong professional ethics and a sense of dedication in teaching.Passionate about teaching chemistry with extensive theoretical and practical experience at the university level.

2. Ph.D. degree inChemistry or a closely related field obtained from a leading Chinese or international university. 

3. Three or more years ofteaching experience in chemistry at leading universities at home or abroad with demonstrated ability to teach in English.

4. Strongcommunication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

WHAT WE OFFER:

These full-time teaching faculty positionsare open at three distinct ranks: Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor. The length of the contract is typically fixed to threeyears. There is the possibility of renewal, potentially over several years.
