Teaching Faculty Positions in Computer Science

Westlake University is currently accepting multiple applications fromhigh-level talent for teaching faculty positions to expand the university's professional teaching force further, establish a high-levelteaching system aligned with the university's mission and goals, and provide students with firm learning guidance and support. The specificjob responsibilities and application requirements are as follows:

Open Rank, Non-tenure Track Full-Time Teaching FacultyPositions in Computer Science

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and teach introductory computerscience courses for undergraduate students in English.

2. Enhance students’ motivation and interest in computer science.

3. Support students’ learning and provide individualized assistance; ensure sufficient office hours to assist students in regularconsultation; provide training and guidance to teaching assistants.

4. Organize and participate in other computer scienceteaching-related activities on campus.

Requirements:

1. Strong professional ethics and a sense of dedicationin teaching. Passionate about teaching computer science with extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience at the universitylevel. 

2. Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related field obtained from a leading Chinese or internationaluniversity.

3. Experienced in teaching computer science (in English) at leading universities at home or abroad, in courses such asProgramming, Introduction to Algorithm, Data Structure, Discrete Mathematics, etc. Teaching experience in advanced programming courses forundergraduate students, including Computer Architecture, Assembly Language, Computer Networking, and Operating Systems is a plus.

4.Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

WHAT WE OFFER:

These full-time teaching facultypositions are open at three distinct ranks: Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor. The length of the contract is typically fixed tothree years. There is the possibility of renewal, potentially over several years.
