About the University:

LNU-MSU College of International Business (CIB) is located in Dalian, a coastal city in northeast China. The city boasts a low cost of living, a mild climate, fresh seafood, and a relaxed atmosphere. The partnership between Missouri State University (USA) and Liaoning Normal University (China) was established in June 2000. LNU-MSU CIB offers a two-year AA in General Studies and a four-year BS in General Business, open to both Chinese and international students.

What sets LNU-MSU apart is its academic structure: while LNU provides and maintains facilities, MSU ensures academic standards equivalent to those at its U.S. campus. All classes are taught in English and follow a U.S.-style university schedule, preparing students for study abroad.

The program in Dalian is formally approved by the governing bodies of both universities—the Ministry of Education in the People's Republic of China and the MSU Board of Governors in the United States. Its mission is to foster cultural and educational exchange while strengthening U.S.-China relations.

About the Position:

Faculty are approved by Missouri State University and employed by Liaoning Normal University as consultant lecturers. They are not employees of MSU but cooperate in teaching an MSU-West Plains Associate of Arts degree in General Studies. Full-time faculty teach 15 lecture hours and hold 5 office hours per week. Faculty typically teach five sections of a single course. Interaction with students outside class is encouraged. This position requires relocation to Dalian, China. All instruction is in English; Chinese language skills are not required.

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary: 11,000–20,000 RMB per month, based on qualifications and experience
• Housing allowance: 3,800 RMB per month
• Paid over 12 months: August 1 – July 31
• Regular retention bonuses
• Standard one-year contracts, with preference for multi-year candidates

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in English writing or closely related field from an accredited institution
• Meets minimum standards for academic qualification consistent with HLC accreditation
• Two years of teaching experience (college or university level preferred)
• Eligible for and willing to obtain a Chinese work visa
• Pass a criminal background check as required by Chinese visa regulations

Desired Qualifications:

• Ph.D. (or ABD) in English writing or related field
• Five or more years of teaching experience
• Experience working with ESL students
